Section 162: Prohibition of forced labor

1) No person shall forced labor any one to work against his or her will.

Provided that this Section shall not be deemed to bar the engaging of anyone in labor for a public work in accordance with law.

2) A person who commits, or causes to be committed, the offence under sub-section (1) shall be liable to a sentence of imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or a fine not exceeding five thousand rupees or both the sentences.
