Section 258: Prohibition of making, possessing or repairing instruments for counterfeiting currency

1) No person shall make, repair, purchase, sell, give, take, export, import or possess any instrument or other material knowing that or having a reasonable reason to believe that it is intended to be used in or for forging or counterfeiting currency.

2) A person who commits, or causes to be committed, the offence referred to in sub-section (1) shall be liable to a sentence of imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years and a fine not exceeding seventy thousand rupees.
