Article 143: Chief Judge and Judges not to be engaged in any other office, and provisions relating to transfer

1) No Chief Judge or Judge of a High Court shall be engaged in or deputed to any office other than that of Judge.

Provided that the Government of Nepal may, in consultation with the Judicial Council, depute a Judge of the High Court to work on a judicial inquiry, or on a legal or judicial investigation, or on research, or on any business of national concern for any specific period.

2) The Chief Justice may, on recommendation of the Judicial Council, transfer a Judge of a High Court to another High Court.
