Section 77: Prohibition of absconding to avoid service of summons, process, notice or order

1) No person, being legally bound to receive a summons, process, notice, arrest warrant or order issued by the competent authority, shall abscond, with mala fide intention to avoid being served with such summons, process, notice, arrest warrant or order.

2) A person who commits the offence referred to in sub-section (1) shall be liable to a sentence of imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or a fine not exceeding five thousand rupees or both the sentences.
