Section 288: Statute of limitation

A complaint in relation to an offence under Section 284 or 285 shall not be entertained after the expiry of six months’ time limitation from the date of commission of such offence, in relation to the offence under Section 286, after the expiry of three months from the date of commission of such offence, and in relation to any of other offences under this Chapter, after the expiry of three months from the date of knowing the commission of such offence.
