Section 110: Prohibition of hoarding consumable goods intended for sale

1) No person shall increase the price of any consumable goods by creating an artificial shortage of such goods in the market or sell, or cause to be sold, such goods at higher price or dump, store or hoard such goods by refraining from selling such goods with the motive of making undue profit from the sale of such goods.

2) A person who commits, or causes to be committed, the offence referred to in sub-section (1) shall be liable to a sentence of imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years and a fine not exceeding fifty thousand rupees.
