Section 82: Prohibition of refusing oath

1) No person who is present before the competent authority to state the truth on any subject shall refuse to take an oath to state the truth on such subject when so required to take such oath.

2) A person who commits the offence referred to in sub-section (1) shall be liable to a sentence of imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or a fine not exceeding five thousand rupees or both the sentences.
