Section 230: Power to withhold property or income until partition is effected

If one filing a lawsuit appears to obtain a partition share in a case of partition and, after the inventory of property has been submitted, makes a petition to the court, praying that the property to the extent of his or her partition share or income thereof be withheld, the court may withhold the property to the extent of his orher partition share or income of such property until partition is effected in the fulfillment of the legal requirements.
