Section 197: Prohibition of making unconscious with intent to commit offence

1) No person shall, with intent to facilitate the commission of any offence, feed or administer, in any other manner, to another person any substance causing unconsciousness, dizziness or unhealthiness or make that other person unconscious in any manner whatsoever.

2)  A person who commits, or causes to be committed, the offense referred to in sub-section (1) shall be liable to a sentence of imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year and a fine not exceeding ten thousand rupees.

3) Where any act referred to in sub-section (1) has resulted in the commission of such offence, the sentence referred to in this Section shall be added to the sentence imposable for such offence.
