Section 199: Statute of limitation

No complaint shall lie, in the case of the offence referred to in Section 196, after the expiry of three months from the date of its commission, in the case of the offence referred to in Section 197, after the expiry of six months or limitation from the date on which such person becomes conscious, and, in the case of any of the other offences referred to in this Chapter, after the expiry of one year from the date of its commission.
