1) If a person takes the custody of a property belonging to another person for its care or management, the person shall take care of and manage the property in good faith as if that were his or her own property.

2)If a person who takes the custody of a property pursuant to sub-section (1) causes loss or damage to the property with malafide intention or recklessly, the person shall pay compensation therefor.
