Section 495: Obligation to be fulfilled

1) A person shall himself or herself fulfill the obligation of any matter which has been so maintained or created as to be fulfilled by him or her or which he or she has undertaken to fulfill.

2) If such a person dies or becomes of unsound mind prior to the fulfillment of the obligation pursuant to sub-section (1), the heir succeeding to his or her property, or his or her guardian, curator, or guarantor in the case of a contract relating to guarantee, shall fulfill such obligation.
