Section 8: Electronic Commerce Payments

1) In conducting electronic commerce pursuant to this Act, arrangements may be made for the buyer or the trader on behalf of the trader to pay the determined price of the goods or services to the carrier before or after the purchase or transfer of such goods or services or at the time of sale or transfer. If such payment is made to the carrier, the trader shall be deemed to have received payment.

2) When making payment pursuant to sub-section (1), payment instruments in accordance with the prevailing federal law relating to payment and settlement may be used.

3) When payment is made pursuant to sub-section (2), the bill of goods or services and electronic or physical receipt of payment shall be made available to the buyer immediately, and a record thereof shall be kept. If such payment is made, the amount shall be deemed to have been duly paid.

4) Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in this Section, the purchase or sale of any goods or services in foreign currency shall be subject to the prevailing federal law.
