Section 20: Validity Period of Bid

1) The validity period of a bid shall be as specified in the bidding documents.

2) The period as referred to in sub-section (1) shall commence from the deadline for the submission of bids.

3) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the Public Entity may, if so required, extend the validity period of bids after the opening of bids, extend the validity period of bids as required, assigning the reasons for the same.

4) In extending the validity period of the bid pursuant to sub-section (3), the consent of the bidder concerned shall have to be obtained.

5) A bidder who agrees to extend the validity period of his/her/bid pursuant to sub-section (4) shall correspondingly extend the validity period of the bid security.

6) The bid security of the bidder not providing consent pursuant to sub-section (4) shall be returned.
