Section 24: Investigation and Filing of Cases

1) The inspection officer shall investigate the offence punishable under Section 23.

2) After completing the investigation pursuant to sub-section (1), the inspection officer shall send the case to the concerned government attorney for a decision on whether or not to prosecute the case. If the government attorney decides to prosecute the case, the inspection officer shall file a case in the relevant consumer court, as per the prevailing law, or, if no such court has been established, in the relevant district court.
