Section 140: Prohibition of making or using artificial explosives

1) No person shall alter or modify any ordinary consumable goods to be used or consumed by the public or change the physical or chemical characteristics of such goods through any physical or chemical process, formula, measure or method or change the form, structure or shape thereof, and use or cause to be used the same as a bomb of any type or any other explosives.

2) A person who commits the offence referred to in sub-section (1) shall be liable to a sentence of imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or a fine not exceeding thirty thousand rupees or both the sentences.
