Section 144: Punishment for those who oppose obstacles

If anyone obstructs and opposes the activities related to investigation or verification under this Act, the adjudicating official may, on the basis of the report of the official appointed for investigation or verification, impose a punishment of imprisonment up to six months or a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand rupees or both.
