Section 44D: Nominal Expenses may be allowed

1) Where all asset of an individual is frozen in the course of investigation and inquiry of the offence of Money Laundering (ML), Terrorist Financing (TF) or in the course of the proceeding of the case and there is no other means or source of the concerned person or his/her dependents, the court may order the department to release the portion of the asset required for basic condition of livelihood. The department shall act upon the court’s order.

2) If there is an order pursuant to subsection (1), the investigating office shall make such property available to such person.
